Our Story
About Us
Most “Moroccan” ceramics online are factory-made in China with a fake patina. We started Ceramiqween after buying three “authentic” tagines that cracked in the oven. Turns out, the real stuff doesn’t come from Aliexpress.
“We sell handmade Moroccan ceramics. We get them directly from artisans. You get authentic pieces without the tourist markup.”

AUTHENTIC PIECES
Real Moroccan ceramics. Not factory replicas with a fake patina.
FAIR PRICES
Direct sourcing means no tourist markup. You pay for the craft, not the supply chain.
SHIPPED WITH CARE
We pack like the box will be thrown down stairs. Because it probably will be.
How We Started
We didn't set out to start a ceramics business.
It started with a trip to Morocco. The souks. The colors. The chaos. And then we walked into a small workshop in Fes where a man was hand-painting plates the same way his grandfather did 60 years ago.
We bought a few pieces. Brought them home. People asked where we got them.
So we went back. And again. Built relationships with artisans. Learned who makes quality pieces and who cuts corners. Figured out how to ship fragile ceramics across the world without them arriving in pieces.
Now we’re here.
What We Actually Do
We work directly with workshops in Fes, Safi, and Marrakech. Small operations. Family-run. Some have been making ceramics for three or four generations.
We don’t design the pieces. The artisans do. We don’t tell them how to work. They’ve been doing this longer than we’ve been alive.
Our job is simple:
- Find the good stuff
- Pay artisans fairly
- Get it to you without damage
- Keep prices reasonable
No warehouse full of inventory. No factory production line. We order from artisans, they make the pieces, we ship them to you
What You're Actually Buying
Moroccan ceramics aren’t like mass-produced homeware.
Every piece is shaped by hand on a wheel. Painted by hand with a brush. Glazed and fired in a kiln. The process takes days, sometimes weeks.
That means:
- No two pieces are identical. Colors vary slightly. Patterns aren’t perfectly symmetrical. That’s the point.
- They’re built to last. These aren’t decorative-only pieces. Tagines go on stovetops. Bowls get used daily.
- They carry history. The techniques used today are the same ones used centuries ago. You’re buying a piece of living tradition.
